Degrees of Kevin Bacon and other news |

The
past few days I've been looking through the classified ads
trying to find another job. It's funny because most of the jobs
I see are for truck drivers re: Job to those who don't like to
spend time with friend or family. Also this really made me
think. All these truck drivers and fueling the oil companies.
It's ridiculous how true that is, before finding a new way to
fuel civilians in America I propose that we discover new ways to
fuel our semi-trucks.
In other news Rubbertoe
and I played 6
degrees of Kevin Bacon today and instead of me typing it
all, I will just quote his blog:
"I'm not sure if I
consider it a game or torture, but Nick
got me started on it when he worked with me at my current
employer. 
However, instead of using Bacon all the time - we choose to
shout out random actors or actresses and then find the link
between them through their movies. So, for example, if the two
starting actors were Bruce Willis and Scarlett
Johansson, their link would be Willis to Jackson (in Die
Hard) - Jackson to McGregor (in Star Wars: EP III) -
McGregor to Johansson (in The Island). It's a basic
concept, but one that proves to be pretty difficult if you
choose the right starting people. 
It did help the work day pass by much quicker though, playing
that game while working on the assembly line.
This morning we spent a good half hour in #rgvc,
finding the link between Neil Patrick Harris and John
Ritter. (ouch) Nick got it in about nine links, I got
it in a little less than that but had to refer to IMDB to check
one of my movies - effectively eliminating my answer. 
We do the game with no outside help, but then can check and
confirm things with IMDB
or The
Oracle of Bacon afterwards. The Oracle made the connection
in two links. 
We often don't even make it in the "required" six
links. We suck.

I wasn't sure about Pushing Tin
having both Jolie and Thorton in it though, until I checked IMDB.

Oh
hrm... the blogging thing. For the past couple weeks
you haven't missed much. I've watched a handful of
horrible movies, but pure gold. Aristocrats was great
as well as the Aqua Teem Hunger Force Movie. Jessica
and I have been playing the hell out of Dr. Mario. We
have been kicking each other's asses equally, even
though I am jawsome.
Currently I am trying to find
a full time job since my loans didn't quite make it to
school. Some mishap that has me out of school this
quarter. It's all good though, I guess, trying to make
lemonade out of this. I hope I can make a few extra
hundred bucks not only for bills but for other things.
Hopefully everything works itself out.
Jessica has been kicking
Rubbertoe's ass off the high score board. I encourage
you all to attack the boards to get some shit going.
I'll have some more new games on there sometime, when
I have time... Still can't believe I'm actually
bloggin :-\
